Joshua Scott Conklin
"My desire is to use every ounce of creativity within me to inspire others to take a step closer to God. I believe He has created me for this one purpose."
Josh is responsible for leading the church in worship on Sunday morning, as well as all the creativity you see at a service, from music and leading the band, to sound and lighting. He also manages the church website. Josh is passionate about helping people experience God in deeper ways. You’ll often see him leading on stage beside his wife, Brittany. They’re both Charlotte natives, and both from quirky southern families like those you sometimes see on TV.
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 21to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
“I love that I have a front row seat in students’ lives. I get to watch God work in and through them every week. I’ve seen incredible things while leading this group and I look forward to even more!”
Ethan believes that he gets to lead and hang out with the coolest teenagers in town (and possibly the world)…and it’s true! He provides leadership to our growing student ministry, always infusing it with heavy doses of energy and laughter. He is passionate about seeing students grow in their faith. He grew up in the small town of Granite Falls, with an amazing, tight-knit family. Ethan is married to Emily and they are the proud parents of Liam.
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” (Ephesians 2:4-5)
Director of Children’s Ministry
“I have a passion for God and children! I believe that strengthening families in Christ is the ultimate way to serve Him.”
Heather’s role is to lead The Grove children’s ministry. She joined the staff team in early 2015, after 6 years of serving as a key volunteer. Heather, her husband, Ron, and their 5 kids (MattaRae, Jonah, Anna, Ellie, and Landry) were a part of the original team that started Radiant Life. Heather and Ron met at UNCC and were married in 1999.
My favorite bible verse is Proverbs 6:6, “Go the the ant you sluggard, consider its ways and be wise.” I know it’s a bit off the beaten path, but I believe this speaks to working together for the good of the church. We cannot do it alone, but with faith and the help of brothers and sisters in Christ, we can do great things!
