It has been a crazy week and a half since the school shooting that happened on Monday the 14th. For those of you who don’t know, Delta State was on national news because of a professor who killed another professor, in his office around 10 am while classes were in session. The shooter eventually committed suicide before being caught later that night. Many of our students were shaken by what happened, especially those who had either professor for a class. By the grace of the God no students were injured and all that I have talked to are doing much better compared to last week.
Seth also left this past Sunday for 5 weeks because of military training. We had the pleasure of having Elbert McGowen, the campus ministry from Jackson State, come and preach to us last night. We have other guest speakers that will be coming to fill in while Seth is away. I would ask that you all continue to pray for these specific things in light of the recent events:
- Delta State as it heals from the tragedy that happened last week.
- For Seth and his family while he is away.
- Our RUF staff as we manage the ministry while our minister/leader is away.
- The Lord would continue to work on this campus through RUF large groups, bible studies, and one on ones.
I thank each and every one of you all for your constant support and prayers, this ministry could not happen without the support of Christian community. I will continue to keep you all updated as the semester pushes forward!
