As I alluded in my December newsletter, this semester has been tough with Seth being gone and the school shooting that happened earlier in the semester. With this being the most successful start to a semester that we have ever had at Delta State RUF, it is not surprising that many challenges were thrown our way. Though our numbers dipped while Seth was away, we still were diligent and continued to reach new students and disciple our more consistent students. We thank the Lord for the fact that we don’t measure success but numbers only but by the fruit in our students lives. We also thank him for bringing us some great freshmen leaders (5) to add to our ministry/leadership team, we hope that these students will stick around for all four years and help continue to generate community within RUF. We had an awesome time this semester as we tutored the students in Md. Bayou, four days a week. This particular picture above was taken at their well deserved Christmas party where they were able to open up gifts from donors across the country, many of these kids will not have anything to open up on Christmas.
Looking to next semester we have so much planned. We have winter conference, a mission trip to Chicago, and summer conference to look forward to. On top of some great conferences I plan on leading a bible study on the book of Galatians. We also look forward to Seth starting a new series as we dive deep into the word.
I would ask that you continue to pray for this ministry and that we would steward all that God has given us well. Pray that we can be diligent and continue to meet more and more students and who would get plugged into our Christian community, which we all need.
With this being the end of the calendar year I would humbly ask that you consider partnering with me financially as I go into the final semester of this internship. We cannot do this job without resources and I appreciate all that has been contributed thus far. If you are looking for end of the year tax credit you can give at:
Thank you all once again and I pray that this season is filled with rest and quality time with family as we celebrate the birth of Christ.
