How did Radiant Life start?

Radiant Life began with a dream that God planted deep within the hearts of Chris and Jenny Thompson. A dream of a place where people far from God could come and find hope and healing for their kids, their marriages, their lives. A place where real life change could happen, because they believed in a God who wants to change lives.

After serving as a youth pastor for fifteen years, Chris, Jenny, and their four kids followed God’s call to plant a church in the fast-growing Lake Norman area, north of Charlotte, in April of 2008. Seven families felt that God was leading them to join with the Thompsons and form the core of this new church.

When was the first public service?

Over the next year and a half, this core group of leaders began meeting together to dream, pray, plan, and prepare to open Radiant Life to the public. On Sunday, September 20th, 2009, the big dream that is Radiant Life Fellowship became a big reality at Blythe Elementary School, with 108 people at the very first worship service!

What is God doing now?

Radiant Life has since become a church known for encouraging authentic relationships, serving the overlooked, and meeting the needs of the community in creative ways. Thousands of people have attended Movies in the Park; thousands of dollars have been given to local and foreign missions; hundreds of lives have been challenged and changed by the message of Christ. Kids and youth are following God with their hearts, hands, and feet. Faith is being born, renewed, and strengthened. God is being honored.

But there is much more history to make. We believe God has more plans for Radiant Life. We’d like to invite you to be a part of it.
